The City of Norfolk invites the public to celebrate the grand opening of the Kohler Softball Complex with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park, where the new facility is located.
The Kohler Softball Complex features state-of-the-art amenities, including new backstops, team locker rooms, and a batting cage building, providing enhanced resources for local athletes and visiting teams. The project was made possible through a collaboration between the City of Norfolk, Norfolk Public Schools, and Northeast Community College, with support from the generous donation of Mahlon B. (Jack) Kohler.
“This complex is a testament to the power of partnerships,” said Nathan Powell, Parks and Recreation Director. “The new facilities will benefit not only local athletes but also attract regional tournaments, boosting Norfolk’s sports tourism.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will include remarks from Mayor Shane Clausen, city officials, and representatives from the partnering organizations. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about its features.
The City of Norfolk encourages the community to join in celebrating this exciting addition to the city’s recreational amenities.
