SUMMARY:Northeast Ne Ag Banquet
DESCRIPTION:Members of the Agri-Business Council of the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce\, in conjunction with the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce\, celebrate northeast Nebraska's #1 industry at their annual Northeast Nebraska Ag Banquet each June.\n\nThe event recognizes area producers and ag business in Madison\, Antelope\, Wayne\, Pierce\, Stanton\, Boone and northern Platte counties for their contributions to the economic well-being of our communities. The banquet emphasizes the link between the business and agricultural communities. Open to the public\, tickets are available through the Norfolk Chamber office or at the door. This annual event features a social hour\, dinner\, and a keynote speaker.\n\nThe primary focus of this event is to recognize and award area youth with continuing agri-business education scholarships. In the last seven years\, scholarships totaling $31\,750 have been awarded to 40 deserving area high school seniors and college students. Several deserving students\, as well as the previous year's Norfolk Beef Expo scholarship recipient\, will be presented 2024 Northeast Nebraska Ag Community Scholarships that evening. It is the Council's goal to continue growing this event in order to increase the number and dollar amounts of scholarships awarded.
